Makin' Mobiles in the Month of May
Seals balance balls on the ends of their noses. Ballerinas balance their bodies on the tips of their toes. And mobiles hang perfectly because they, too, balance. [Mobiles exemplify] the scientific principles that allow a gymnast to perform incredible tricks on the balance beam and an acrobat to walk easily across a thin wire.

Michelle Haynes is back to host a series of crafty workshops, this time around on the art of mobile making. Not your grade school art class on cut and paste, this workshop permits the opportunity to experiment and construct ornamental structures set in motion by circulating air currents. Michelle will teach two separate workshops on mobiles, each focusing on a different material: Felt or Paper
Felt Mobiles: Sunday May 6th, 5:00 pm - 8:00pm, Sliding Scale Suggested donation of $30-40 for instruction and materials
Paper Mobiles: Sunday May 20th, 5:00 pm - 8:00pm, Sliding Scale Suggested donation of $30-40 for instruction and materials
People should bring scissors and any extra trimmings they feel like incorporating. Paper, felt and thread will be provided, along with a choice of wire, thread, yarn or dowel rods.
Email em@gravelandgold.com to coordinate which workshop you would like to register for a class.
