The weather here in San Francisco guides many of our product design decisions. The relentless and unpredictable climate—year-round chilly winds and sudden patches of sun—demands versatile layers with multiple functions.

Caps are ubiquitous here, not only to look great and signify your aesthetic preferences and/ or athletic affiliations, but also to provide needed protection against aggressive coastal breezes and glaring California sun.

This cap is extra special: it is entirely made in Los Angeles and cut from our very own signature hickory stripe denim, as seen on our Marram jackets and Painter and Placer pants.

Materials + Care: This is a 100% cotton, ⅛”  “Hickory Stripe” denim. Its weight is 11 oz per yard square, which makes for sturdy and forgiving garments.

In California, certain places stop being locations and become entire identities. “The River.” “The Mountains.” You already know the temperature, the snacks, the shoes, the state of mind.

Athamé Records started as a song circle in Claire’s living room. We’d get together every few weeks and workshop ideas that felt too new to share with the world. The label evolved from there, keeping the idea of process as its root. We’ve moved slowly and intentionally through the work of creating something new, prioritizing care, generosity, and fun. Our ultimate goal is to make a supportive space for artists who’ve been historically underrepresented in music—especially BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and women/femmes.
