It’s simply the finest route to knowing oneself. This is a journal that honors the act of writing as a road to greater calm, joy and self-awareness. Use this journal as a place to capture, tame and explore everything that might otherwise flap restlessly or unfruitfully in the mind; make this a privileged repository of all that you feel, remember, think – and are.

Trace the garden as a source of inspiration and metaphor back through centuries of history. A wide variety of artists, writers, poets, thinkers, scientists, and more have characterized the garden in myriad ways: a place of harmony and fertility, separated from the world; a Biblical locale, primeval and rife with symbolic and spiritual significance. In today's day and age, the garden has unfortunately become a metaphor for humankind's entire relationship to the earth: we have influenced the planet to such a degree, and exercise such a great deal of influence over the planet, that we now must conceive of ourselves as gardeners—albeit somewhat incompetent ones—desperately trying to hold off the weeds of climate change and biodiversity collapse. A profoundly important and fascinating read for anyone who has their own experience of gardening, ecologists everywhere, and art historians and philosophers as well. A sprawling and timely volume.

In 1973 I set out to do drawings of women's genitals for use in sex education groups. I wanted the drawings to be lovely and informative, to give pleasure and affirmation. I organized the drawings into a coloring book because a major way we learn to understand the world, as children, is by coloring. As adults many of us still need to learn about our external sexual anatomy. Coloring is a way for the child in each of us to revision and reclaim this portion of our bodies from which we have been estranged.
The Cunt Coloring Book, published in 1975, was immediately and wildly popular, although many people complained about the "awful" title. Three printings later, in 1981, the title was changed to Labia flowers and the book virtually died. So much for euphemisms. Welcome once again to the Original Cunt Coloring Book (with a few additions). May you color it with pleasure.
Call me a romantic, but they look more like friendly Labia seashells than flowers to me.

A chronicle of the pioneering and subversive brand Parachute and its influence on the evolution of fashion in the 1980s and beyond.
From its beginnings inspired by New Wave subculture to its position as an international fashion sensation, the Parachute brand from Montreal was recognized for its visionary, bold apparel and innovative concept stores.
Avant-garde in attitude and design, Parachute brought together high and low, the establishment and the underground. The clothing was defined by androgynous looks, oversized silhouettes, elevated essentials, and graphic references to past and future, from exaggerated trench coats to “space samurai kimonos.” Together with a considered retail presence, which combined an industrial aesthetic in the stores with exuberant photography campaigns, the brand created a vision for street fashion that is keenly relevant today.
In Designing Brands, the Creative Voyage team provides a backstage view into eight studios who produce some of the world’s most captivating visual identities. Alongside these independent agencies’ greatest projects, the book features in-depth conversations with their leaders and collaborators. This select group of industry experts shares intimate details about their processes and the art of creating with rationality, thoughtfulness, and intuition.

Lesbian lizards, gay orgies of manatees, polyamorous oystercatchers, trans clownfish, bisexual red deer, and masturbating bonobos! This coloring book celebrates the diversity of animals and the way our beautiful queer communities exist far beyond the realms of human culture. So many of us grew up with wildlife programs and school biology classes that never once mention these natural aspects of life on Earth. It was all ‚male meets female, seduces her with his bright feathers or funky dance and they very quickly mate. The implication has always been that that the whole point of life is to make little baby animals and there was nothing in the great natural world that might challenge the cis-het norms of biologists. This entertaining and educational resource, created by trans woman and ecologist. Otter Lieffe, and richly illustrated by Anja Van Geert, liberates this knowledge and helps free us all to express our true selves.

CFM is one of our fave local woman-owned-and-operated businesses. They are a storefront offering handmade watercolors and a line of letterpress watercolor papergoods all made in-house, alongside a curated selection of creative supplies. In 2019, we started to talk about collaborating on a special Holiday product, to come up with something that represents all that we care about: sustainability, creativity, process, and COLOR.
We were sitting on a fair amount of patterned fabric backstock that we didn't want to go to waste, and wondered if we could come up with something to make from it. I think it was actually all of us who had the idea of a brush roll, and we immediately got so excited about this possibility! For Holiday 2019, CFM developed a custom water color palette to match each of our brush rolls and we included this palette along with everything one needs to get started with water coloring, in the brush roll. How special, right?!
The brush rolls were a rip roaring success so we've brought them back! This time sans supplies so you can fill them with whatever tools you've got.
We can't wait to see how you pack your rolls and the work you make with them.
