Spring Flowers

The California Poppy graces many a sun-drenched meadow throughout California and the Southwest with its brilliant orange, saucer-shaped flowers. On bright days, the poppy’s silky petals open to greet the sun. At dusk, the golden blooms close into tightly fluted repose.

These beauties can be grown anywhere. In areas with hard freezes, they are annuals; in temperate regions, perennials. Wherever they are grown, they are sure to bring a splash of sunshine from the Golden State!

Cherry blossoms are richly symbolic, and have been utilized often in Japanese art, manga, anime, and film, as well as at musical performances for ambient effect. The flower is also represented on all manner of consumer goods in Japan, including kimono, stationery, and dishware.
