We were obsessed with dressing in dots in 2013. Obsessed! We also thought it would be nice to express our burgeoning textile nerdiness by making two kinds of polka dot fabrics: one printed (“Udon Dots”) and one dyed (what you see here).
Our friend and collaborative partner Tessa Watson was so kind as to create yardage for us using natural cochineal dye procured by Lisa on a recent family vacation to Oaxaca, Mexico. Tessa went on to found Ogaard, a textile-focused gallery and studio in Oakland, California, where successful cross-pollinations such as this are common. Check it out!
