Fall Inspiration: Larry Sultan's Parents in Sweatsuits

Back when you could go to museums we had the pleasure of seeing the Larry Sultan show at SFMOMA. We've been carrying these images with us since.

Since the lockdown we've especially been calling on Sultan's collection, Pictures From Home which depicts his aging parents, entrenched in their San Fernando Valley home, on a golf course.

Although the subjects surpass us in age by a few decades, they are relatable; decked out in their often color coordinated leisure suits, seemingly preoccupied with something outside but contained in their domestic space.

Larry is a Californian and has spent time teaching in our Bay Area art institutions.
