The Crucible's Fire Arts Festival
This latter-week, West Oakland’s own hub of welders, smelters, steampunkers and assorted blowtorch-friendly hotties—The Crucible—hosts its 8th annual Fire Arts Festival. Last year’s festivities drew over 10,000 visitors, according to their reckoning, and I’m certain that this year’s “celebration of creativity through fire and light” will be well deserving of an even greater crowd. Nile and I will be hitting it up Wednesday, but you can catch fellow G & G mainstays/Crucible staffers Kevin and Ellie there most nights. Just don’t plan on catching any of them there fireballs in yer teeth—you can leave that to the experts.
