Michael Hurley

Michael Hurley, aka Doc Snock or Elwood, played his first official gig at Carnegie Hall in his early twenties sandwiched between Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, and Buffy Sainte-Marie. When he’s not hanging out with Kornbread or pushing the Snark around the country, he’s making sweet and melancholy music that sometimes includes his hilarious cartoon characters Jocko and Boone.

He calls our shop Gravel Gertie’s and you can catch him playing here next time he’s in town. In the meantime, we always keep a hearty stack of his homespun albums and graphic novels on hand.
