Nani Haveli is textile jewelry project started by Aditi Chokhshi, based in Rural India. This initial collection of earrings and jewelry boxes are designed and made by Aditi and her small team of artisans in rural India.

The pieces begin on a blank canvas of organza and are then embroidered by hand with a mix of cotton, silk and metal threads. The embroidered panels are affixed to brass with sterling silver posts and backs and accented lightly with pearls, sapphires or an old-world style crystal called a Polki.

The pieces are identifiably of India, utilizing the unmistakable embroidery traditions of the region while also feeling contemporary and approachable, combining Aditi's old-world influences along with the airy imprint of her California home.

This classic bangle bracelet was hand-pounded by David Clarkson up in Point Reyes Station. This pounding produces its distinctive light catching sides.

Perhaps it is something in the Point Reyes water that produces its extremely good vibrations. Lovely on its own, especially lovely when stacked with fellow bracelets perhaps wrist to elbow. Lightweight enough to wear for a jog on the beach, no problem, and making always the marvelous twinkling sound of aunties administering bath time.

Bangles such as these come in either 14k gold-fill or in sterling silver. And they come in three shapes: pounded flat on two sides, or pounded flat on three sides, or a twist. The one you are considering here is silver and it is the twist variety.
