Friends: Did you know that tampons, pads, and reusable feminine products are not covered by food stamps? Not covered by health insurance? Definitely not inexpensive. Girls and women unable to afford this monthly expense are using rags (if anything) in lieu of disposable or re-usable items.. around the world (and around YOUR neighborhood!!).

Those of you in New York, please stop by FemmeCare Artist Showcase tomorrow for a discussion and conversation about the menstruation taboo, women in need, and feminism.
Entrance fee is a feminine hygiene product donation. (Natural / biodegradable tampons or menstrual cups are best! But also pads, period underwear, the works.) 4-8pm at Ludlow Studios (40 Ludlow St, NY).

I wish I could be there in person to take part in this much needed dialogue facilitated by some radial ladies.. but I will be there in spirit and in art! Thanks to so many inspiring gals for getting this rolling... much love from the west coast!!
