A print of Ilka Hartmann's Leah Cutting Thistles has been hanging in our shop—a sort of protective goddess figure—since it was given to us as a congratulations gift when we were living in Bolinas and opened our shop in the city. The image was taken when Ilka still had a babe in arms, her son Ole, whom she recalls placing by the side of the dirt road in order to shoot frame after frame of Leah taking down a field of thistles.
It is our belief that everybody ought to be able to enjoy this image in their lives. Ilka agrees. So we made it available as a $5 poster worth framing. It measures 27" x 17.5" We will fold it to send it to you unless you call the shop and arrange to have us ship it in a tube to you, which we can do too. We hope your $5 buys you at least 50 years of inspiration.
