This is a single ceramic piece from our recent, abundant collaboration with Reniel Del Rosario.
Going Dutch is a ceramic installation inspired by the Dutch still-life paintings we’ve both long admired and bears the characteristics of overindulgence of the holiday season. The installation features ceramic fruits, bones, meat, dairy, oysters and much more.
Hand sculpted and painted in Vallejo, Ca.
5'' wide x 2" tall
Reniel is a Bay Area based artist who primarily works in large-quantity ceramic object-based installations, focusing on abundance, consumerism, and culture. His installations focus on dispersing his creations, whether it's through the performance of a salesperson, inviting patrons to destroy his artwork, or distributing his objects to as many people as he can. Reniel has fabricated everything from dozens of burial jars to hundreds of ceramic replicas of everyday objects to sell on city sidewalks from San Francisco to Manila, and even nearly a thousand desserts for West Coast Craft.
