We designed this stoneware coffee dripper with Sarah Kersten of Berkeley, CA.
The carved walls of the cone make for a textural interior that allows coffee grounds to expand and air to filter through as hot water is poured over, keeping your brew flowing and preventing over-steeping.
Happily, these same carvings are reflected on the handsome exterior of the cone, recalling a Roman aquaduct carrying mountain waters to the peoples. Were that the ancient Romans had known about coffee or these cones in which to pour their mountain water, imagine all the tasks they could have accomplished really really fast!
Slipcast and hand glazed. Works best with a size 02 paper filter, also known to former Hario devotees as the V-60. Good for 1-3 cups at a time.
