"Boobs" has made the leap to paper in a tiny-kind with a major delight result. United Colors of Boobs!
Once Cass went up to Portland for a week of printing with the expert Emily Johnson and this was the first plate to hit the press. Previously, "Boobs" had only been printed as a large-scale silkscreen on fabric, using just one color at a time, and they wanted to play with as many colors as possible for these letterpress prints. Inconceivably, Em had never experimented with split fountain inking on her press, so they were both learning new tricks as they went along.
These cards were printed on Em's vintage Miehle letterpress, at EMprint Press, at YU. The size of the cards is 6" x 6" square. The recycled stock is heavyweight and a little bit toothy, with 25% cotton mixed in. The envelopes are 100% PCW recycled kraft paper.
Gravel & Gold is donating the proceeds from these cards to the worthy La Leche League of Northern California and Hawaii. We're hoping to share the boob positivity more more more!
