The Jao brand was created by David and Gale Mayron, a father-daughter team. Jao found its early beginnings in 1994 after Gale asked her former research and development chemist father about washing her hands while on the go and he replied with "gelled alcohol". After about two years of research they came up with their product, now known as the 'Jao Refresher'.
Jao officially launched their business in 1997 and have created a line of natural products with a devoted following. Jao Brand products are multipurpose as well as unisex. The idea is: the less you buy, the less you consume, the less you throw away.
