Join local artist and illustrator Maria Schoettler at Gravel + Gold for an evening painting workshop in her favorite medium, gouache, a watercolor paint. This fun and casual workshop will be an entry level class open to everyone. Sip on wine while enjoying beautiful floral arrangements by Oakland florist Gorgeous & Green and a demonstration of how Maria utilizes watercolor paints to make flowers and plants. Then try it for yourself. For beginners, the evening will be an opportunity to get the brush wet and get some tips on how to get started. For seasoned painters, the live floral arrangements will be a lovely subject and Maria will happily offer tips and feedback along the way. Maria will give group and one-on-one instruction in a friendly environment where students are free to play and explore with this versatile medium and endlessly inspiring botanical subject of live flowers.
