Patricia Yenawine

I began working in clay in New York City in the early 80’s, learning from fellow potters in a cooperative studio. Since moving to California I have participated in workshops at Mendocino Art Center with Alleghany Meadows, studied pit-firing techniques with Molly Prier, and porcelain throwing at Penland Crafts School with Angela Fina. Since 2003 I have been exploring the possibilities in wood firing at Richard Carter’s anagama kiln in Pope Valley.

My studio is in a large barn-like structure near the Bolinas Lagoon. Outside my window are laying hens and honey bees, and as I work I am surrounded by the sights, smells, and sounds of coastal Marin. ***Note: It’s also a great place to begin your look around at the annual Coastal Marin open studios Thanksgiving weekend, a wonderful event that Patricia helps organize.
