Ed Masuga

I met Ed while we were standing in line for pizza at the Cheeseboard years ago. He was a great musician then, unusual because it seems just about everyone can listen to him all day on repeat, and a rare one who keeps getting better. You’d have to call his music sweet homegrown fingerpicking folk—but not too sweet.

Ed claims to live in Massachusetts these days, but until he changes his MySpace location, I’ll continue to think of him residing over in Berkeley behind Fat Dawg’s place, making really good albums and fixing up old awesome bikes. I prefer keeping wondering why he hasn’t come around the city in a while rather than accept it’s because he’s moved too damn far away.
