Join us for two Sundays in April: the 1st and 8th to make handmade sandals in a small group with Rachel Corry. Both nights we will gather from 5pm til approximately 9pm.
In this workshop we will making a particular sandal design that is modern, pretty, and simple enough for beginning shoemakers. This sandal consists of a wide strap across the toe, ankle straps with a lace, a leather top sole, and a synthetic or leather (yr choice) bottom sole. Options you will have will be what color and kind of leather to use, the design of the ankle strap, and whether or not to add a small heel.
Once the group is finished with the 2nd day of sandal construction, Rachel will take the almost-finished shoes to be sanded and finished and will return them to Gravel & Gold in a few days, ready for pick-up and wear!
All materials and tools, including leather, hardware, and knives will be provided. We're going to limit the size of the workshop to just 8 folks, so please get in touch soon if you'd like to join us by emailing Em at_em@gravelandgold.com.
