Mimi

I first discovered Mimi Berry’s shop/studio on Cheshire Street off Brick Lane back in 2005. I remember distinctly saying to myself, If I ever have a shop, these bags are exactly the sort of thing I would like to carry. Each design is simple, yet super clever, with the right proportion and the right hardware (that is, very little). And, when she whips them up in metallic silver and gold, they’ve got serious sha-bang.

Mimi founded her line in 2001 after graduating from Central Saint Martins. She manufactures everything in the UK with the highest attention to detail. In 2007 she was commissioned by Tate Britain to design a collection of leather bags, purses and cardholders that you may have coveted at one of their museum shops.
