Based in Brooklyn, Kalen and Astrid make garments utilizing their own take on traditional Japanese shibori and dip dyeing. Each item is hand dyed using methods of binding, folding, or compressing fabric to make one of a kind pieces with an endless array of pattern and texture.
This season, Upstate is presenting pieces that take on more creative and multi-functional shapes.
